Discover Plattsburgh Irish Festival
The 3rd Annual Discover Plattsburgh Irish Festival is Saturday, March 10, 2018 in the Durkee Street Parking Lot/Farmers Market building. The Valcour Brewing Company will be turning the Farmers Market building into the ‘Valcour Brewing Company Tavern’ serving up delicious craft brews. Follow the Irish Festival event on the City of Plattsburgh Facebook page for more details about the craft beer selection.
Get ready to do your version of the ‘Irish jig’ with Burlington’s foremost “kilt-rock” quartet, Prydein.
“A typical Prydein audience is a pretty even mix of folks; elementary school kids to those disenchanted youth with hair the color of toxic waste standing next to elderly couples holding up cell phones in the air so that their middle-aged children can hear the amazing sound coming from a rock band with bagpipes.” Don’t miss this dynamic group’s performance on the stage at the Durkee Street lot, 2p.m.-5p.m.
To kick things off, the Champlain Valley Irish Dancers will return once again to show off their unique dance routine at 12p.m. At 1:30p.m., the Center Stage Dance Studio will have their premiere dance teams, Lake City Juniors, Lake City Kids and Lake City Dancers on site to change things up a bit from the traditional Irish dance to add a little hip-hop flavor.
Bring the kids for a day of fun! The Clinton County ARC will host the popular Downtown Plattsburgh Leprechaun Launch and Outside Art: Plattsburgh Public Art Project will share their artistic talents as the official festival “face painters”. Capture your Irish Festival memories in DJ Watty’s Photo Booth!
Tammy’s Lunch Box will be on site to serve up your favorite festival treats, Wally’s Cotton Candy is going to spin up some green cotton candy for party-goers, and McDonald’s will warm you up with a free cup of coffee. If the cold doesn’t bother you, you can enjoy a free dish of ice cream courtesy of Stewarts Shops.
PLEASE NOTE: A portion of the southern side of the Durkee Street parking lot (Farmers Market side) will be unavailable for parking beginning March 9th at 8a.m. until the completion of the Irish Festival on March 10th.
