On Thursday, March 4th, 2010, PD Detectives investigated a complaint of stolen credit card numbers being used to purchase merchandise. Detectives later arrested Thomas J. Howe (30yrs) and Jared R. Hudson (31yrs) both of 3 Freeland Way, Plattsburgh, for the felonies of Identity Theft 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree. It is alleged the two obtained stolen credit card numbers over the internet, and ordered tens of thousands of dollars in merchandise over the past several months.

On Saturday, March 6th at 8:15PM, a complaint was received at the Plattsburgh Police Department reporting a male being stabbed on Sandalwood Way. Officers arriving on the scene found a 26 year old male victim who had apparent stab wounds to his face, arm and abdomen. The victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital. The suspect description was relayed to other officers who located him on South Catherine Street. 20 year old David A. Burleigh of 7 Sandalwood Way was interviewed and subsequently arrested for the assault. It is alleged that Burleigh stabbed the victim in Burleigh’s Sandalwood Way residence after an argument. Burleigh has been charged with the felony of Assault in the second degree.

On Monday, March 8th, PD Detectives investigating a spree of night time burglaries which occurred on February 28th, interviewed and arrested 20 year old Marcio C. Meno of Plattsburgh. It is alleged that Meno entered three South Catherine Street residences in the middle of the night and stole electronics, jewelry and video games. He has been charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, Petit Larceny and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property.

On Wednesday, March 10th, PD Detectives working with the Adirondack Drug Task Force intercepted a shipment of heroin destined for Plattsburgh’s streets. Jose F. Figueroa (31yrs) of Bronx, NY, was arrested at the Greyhound Bus station after Detectives found him to be in possession of 99 bindles of heroin (Street value of approx. $5,000). He was charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree related to a previous sale. More charges are pending.

Later in the day on March 10th, PD Detectives, assisted by the Adirondack Drug Task Force and US Customs and Border Protection, executed a City Court Search Warrant at 295 Margaret Street in the City of Plattsburgh. Detectives found Shawn E. Hughes (34yrs) to be in possession of more than five pounds of hydroponic marihuana (street value of approx. $13,000). Hughes was charged with the felony of Criminal Possession of Marihuana 2nd Degree and also Endangering the Welfare of a Child. It is alleged that Hughes endangered the welfare of his two year old daughter by conducting the drug sales with his daughter present.
