City Police have identified the victim in the railway fatality as 23 year old Casey A. Campbell of Miller Street, Plattsburgh. The investigation has revealed that Campbell was observed on the railroad tracks by CP Rail staff who then attempted to stop the train. Independent eye witness accounts of the incident indicate that Campbell ran towards the train on the train tracks and dove under it when the train was about to overtake him.
The investigation is continuing today.
